About This Recipe
Salmon, the chicken of the sea, oh wait that is tuna… Well maybe it can be the “pork” of the sea. We will have to think on this. No matter what you call salmon, I call it delicious. Baked, fried, deep fried, smoked or even raw the ways you can prepare it are rather endless. With this recipe I finally got around to using the air fryer. Now keep in mind that I have the Ninja Food which has nine different functions (air crisp being one of them) and not the official air fryer, but I feel that there is not much of a difference in the functions. Well all this in mind I thought I would stick with one of the classic salmon combinations, garlic and lemon. This oldie but goodie has never let me down, and I feel that it will not let you down either. I also took the privilege of stepping it up just a tiny bit by throwing on some lemon pepper and using fresh lemon slices.
Salmon And You
So why go with salmon and not another type of fish? Well salmon is actually rather healthy for you! Salmon has a good amount of natural B-12 which is great for our blood and nerve cells. But the biggest thing about salmon is the omega 3-fatty acids they give us, which is great cause we cannot make them ourselves. Some other neat factoids I learned about salmon is that they can survive in both fresh and salt water. The oldest salmon fossil found is roughly 50 million years old. And some salmon can get up to 100 pounds.
