About This Recipe

The first thing that we want to hit on as something that we truly adore about this recipe is the combination of lemon and garlic. Not only is this a classic combination in a whole heap of different chicken recipes, but it’s a spectacular combination no matter what.

Garlic is a rich and earthy flavor that brings a lot of wonderful notes to the fore in nearly any dish that it’s used in. It’s especially wonderful in a recipe like this one where the garlic can be gently caramelized and made to be perfectly crispy – what’s not to love?

On top of the earthy richness of the garlic, there’s the acidic sharpness of great lemon. Not only that but, by using fresh lemon, you can create a sharpness with just a hint of sweet, tasty flavors that are impossible to walk away from.

Together, lemon and garlic create an aroma that’s unbeatable in the kitchen and will allow you to ensure that people are always coming back for seconds.

Hints & Tips

The best tip that we have for a recipe like this in which honey will take a front seat in the flavors of the sauce is to make sure that the honey you use is good-quality honey. While you could use any honey from the supermarket, we’d recommend you track down some local honey. Not only will it be good for local businesses and stimulate the economy, but you’ll be able to taste the difference – we promise.

Local honey isn’t watered down at all, while supermarket honey is typically mixed with sugar syrup before being jarred up. This is done to cut down on the manufacturing costs, as well as to ensure that the end product is the same every time. Having non-diluted honey will lead you to a taste sensation in your mouth where the flavor notes can include flowers and wildlife near you – it’s truly delicious!

To boost this recipe in a small, affordable way – we’d recommend making your own broth. This isn’t necessary, strictly speaking, but it’s a great way to ensure that the flavor in your final dish is something unique and wonderful.

Making your own broth couldn’t be easier – add bones and scraps to a large pot of water, along with vegetable offcuts and similar odds and ends from your kitchen. Bring that water to a boil, and then simmer it for up to six hours, skimming off any fat that rises to the surface of the liquid. At the end of the cooking process, the broth will be wonderfully well-flavored, with the notes from every single ingredient in there. Make sure to well salt the broth, and then use it to your heart’s content! It will truly boost every dish that you add it to.

This recipe is a simple one, but don’t let that fool you – it’s one of the tastiest chicken recipes we’ve ever eaten! Have a go soon, we’re sure you won’t regret it.
