So recently I accidentally murdered my old coffee maker and had to set out on the quest to buy a new one. But in this world of many different manufacturers, and many different styles, and many different prices; it is not an easy quest to navigate. I have always been an old fashion coffee maker type of person, and if I wanted anything “fancier” I would travel to my nearest coffee shop. So as I am looking at the great wall of coffee makers I find myself thinking “maybe I should step up my coffee maker game.” So, there I was staring at all the Black & Deckers, Keurigs, Mr. Coffees and what have you. When I fell upon one of my favorite brands, Ninja. After reviewing all their options, I eventually went with the Dual Pro.

What made me decide on the Dual Pro?

The Daul Pro offered several features that I have always wanted in a coffee maker, but never really got around to doing. It has four brew settings, a built in fold-away frother, compatibility with k-cups, adjustable brew sizes, an independent hot water system, a thermal carafe, and multi-position water reservoir. So let us go over some of these features.

Brewing Speed

Brewing a full 55 oz carafe of coffee on “Classic” setting takes approximately 9 minutes.

Brewing a full 47 oz carafe of coffee on “Rich” setting takes approximately 8 minutes.

Brewing a 12 oz K-Cup on “Classic” setting takes approximately 1 ½ minutes.

I started recording the times from the second I pushed the start button to the time the maker beeped letting me know it was done. When it comes to the carafe times, I can safely say that is much faster than my previous coffee maker. Other factors can be considered on the brew times such as brew style and amount being brewed. All in all I find the speed to be rather exceptional whether you are just sitting back and relaxing or if you on the go.

Dual Coffee Maker

The dual pro can make coffee from both traditional grounds and coffee pods. When using grounds, you can brew from a single cup of coffee all the way to the full carafe ranging from 8 to 55 oz on the classic setting and 7 to 47 oz on the rich setting. You can also use the pod adaptor to brew k-cups ranging from 6 to 12 oz on classic setting or 6 to 11 oz on rich setting.

4 Different Brew Styles

Classic: Brewed in the classic style that delivers a smooth, well-balanced flavor.

Rich: Brews a richer, more intense flavor that easily stands up to milk, cream, or flavoring.

Over Ice: This is for making iced coffee. When brewing it is made so that it is not watered down upon completion.

Specialty: This setting produces 4 oz of coffee brewed specifically for make drinks like lattes, mochas, or any of your other coffee shop favorites.

Independent Hot Water System

This is one of my favorite features on this model. Instead of funneling the hot water through the coffee ground area the Ninja Dual Pro has a separate dispenser that it uses for the water so that you do not get any left-over coffee taste in your tea or whatever you are using your water for. It has two temperature settings Hot (about 140 degrees) and boil (about 175 degrees), and you can brew 6 to 60 oz with this setting.

Built-in Fold-away Frother

I think the frother is the only area I feel could use improvement on. It does an awesome job frothing things, but you must heat up your milk (or whatever you are frothing) separately. It is easy to detach and clean and as the feature says folds away neatly onto the side of the maker.

Multi-Position Water Reservoir

This feature lets you position the reservoir on either the side or the rear of the machine to fit in better with your spacing needs. The reservoir also is detachable for easier filling.

Cleaning Your Ninja Dual Pro

All the parts for the dual pro are dish washer safe and easy to remove. The machine itself has a self-clean function and uses either a special cleaning solution or white vinegar.

Summary

The Ninja Dual Brew Pro is the perfect machine for the tried-and-true coffee drinker and the adventurous coffee drinker that likes to experiment. If the shear versatility that the Dual Pro offers is not enough to sway you then the super convenience should. The modern look of it fits in with any kitchen design and the fact that every cup of coffee you make meets the SCAA golden cup standard, so you are drinking one of the best cups of coffee you can at home. This is a decision that I was glad I made and I am sure that you will feel the same.

You can find the Ninja Dual Brew Pro at most major retailors, but I found it cheapest at Amazon.
